Like This (Fonkadelic Remix)

The new "fonkedelic" remix of "Like This" from 10th Anniversary Re-Imaginations of Zero Down Time, contains a few fun surprises. In addition to the general clean up and EQ touches, we added a few bars here and there for dramatic effect. The song benefits from a new updated drum loop too!

This was probably the funkiest we got on the original Zero Down Time album, and the new mix is even funkier. Some might call it fonky.

There has long been talk of the backwards banter at the beginning of the track being some hidden message. It's not that at all, but if you really want to know what is being said, you'll have to bribe one of the guys, or learn how to play the track backwards on your own!

Pete wrote this tune, long before ZFB was even a thing, for his prior band The Egnatucks, who actually did this song as an acoustic number. Pete didn't bother to tell Steve and Rich that until 2020, so we went full fonk on it.

One fun little tidbit that exists both on the original version and the remix is the very ending, which contains a voicemail that Pete left for Steve, expressing his satisfaction with the original final mix of the song. Pete said, "...I wouldn't change a thing." Well, 10 years later we changed at thing, or two.
