We had a great time playing at the Deland Original Music Festival on November 4, 2023! In addition to Peter Preston on vocals and harmonica, Rich Marcil on guitar, and Steve Davis on bass and backing vocals, we were joined by Dave Oltman (aka “The Full Dave”) on drums. Dave has performed with us several times, and he's a true team player and comes to these shows better prepared than we do!
We played at the picturesque Chess Park in downtown Deland, which is a stage we've always admired. Last year, Rich's other band The Forefathers (which also features Dave), along with Peter sitting in on harmonica, performed on that very same stage. No one knows with 100% certainty where Steve was during that set, but rumors have been circulating that he was sighted at a nearby beer truck.
Our 45-minute set, which seemed like it lasted only 20 minutes, included the following songs:

After the show, we enjoyed dinner at the Halfwall Beer House (outside of which we played our very first Deland live show several years back, for you ZFB historians, and then stumbled around town listening to music, sampling beers, and eating fudgy cookies. Despite rumors to the contrary, Rich did not have a rock-star outburst and drop-kick some street tacos. No matter how it happened, the loss of the tacos was a true calamity.
