From the recording SILLY STUFF
Steve says, "After the initial writing session for Zero Down Time, I thought that we needed an up-tempo opening song to kick off the album. I've always wanted to write a song to dedicate to my wife, but I what I come up with is usually too saccharine, or too cliche. So instead, I wrote the song about how I couldn't come up with a good song. So, it's a song about a song that doesn't exist. I decided just for fun to add a little FM radio flip intro to set the mood, and as an extremely inside joke, the first sound you hear on the track is an excerpt from the song Surf Punks From Hell, a punk recording that I used to obsess over in my college days."
